Jon White is an abstract and contemporary seascape artist based in Cornwall. Whether in his seascapes or more abstract work the relationship between light and water, land and see plays a key role in my creative inspiration and practice. 

Having grown up inspired by the Cornish coastline, Jon went onto train in New York and Los Angeles under artist Makoto Fujimura. In 2016 he moved back to Cornwall where he paints from his home studio. 

Jon writes: “The sea has always provoked in me a sense of awe, wonder and questions of eternity. I understand my work to be “felt” as much as “seen. My desire is that my work would create connection, inspiration and mystery for the viewer; an invitation to pause and find wonder in the world we live in.”
