From the 4th – 13th August we’ll be enjoying The Falmouth Week Regatta: a major event here in Cornwall with seven days of fleet racing for yachts and dayboats in the world famous Falmouth Bay; fantastic music, a carnival and even the Red Arrows making an appearance on Wednesday!
It’s fantastic fun for all the family, with exciting attractions pulling the crowds in all day, every day and long into the night.
There’s so much to see and do, you’ll be spoilt for choice. If you make your way to Falmouth to enjoy the festivities, don’t forget to drop by St Mawes to visit us in the gallery!
Here are some our favourite events going on during Falmouth Week:
Falmouth Week on The Moor
The Moor sets the scene for a whole host of spectacular activities, from markets and kid-friendly fun to street food, music and tonnes of great workshops and crafts.
Get yourself down the the seafront at 6:15pm on Wednesday 9th and you’ll be treated to an incredible display, put on by the legendary Red Arrows. Demonstrating the unbelievable skill and speed of the RAF, you can expect an amazing show that will have you on the edge of your seat!
Falmouth Art Gallery Workshops
If you’re looking for some beautiful artwork, unique crafts and hands on creative workshops, you’ll love the Falmouth Art Gallery Workshops held each day at The Moor, 11am – 3pm.
The whole week is set to be packed with live music to suit all tastes!
Fancy a throwback? The world’s official No.1 Bruce Springsteen tribute is playing at The Events Square on Monday night and it’s an 80s/90s disco on Friday! Ready to dance? There’s a Latin extravaganza taking place on Tuesday. Ska, Funk, Blues and ‘The Counterfeit Stones’…the choice is endless!
Start the weekend with a bang as fireworks light up the harbour and the stunning backdrop of Falmouth at night. Friday, 10pm in the town centre.
Dragon Boat Racing
Falmouth Week started as a sailing regatta way back in 1837 and that continues today, but the final day nods to that in an exotic new form: Dragon Boat Racing.
Watch as 40ft traditional Chinese-style boats take to the water in what is set to be a thrilling race to the finish line! You can even enter to take part: To enter or for more information contact Mike Lanyon 07718 393087 firstname.lastname@example.org
Big Wheel on The Pier
The views of Falmouth are captivating enough from the ground, but they’re even more impressive from the top of a Big Wheel! Situated on the Prince of Wales Pier overlooking the Fal River all week.
Creation Station Workshops
A multi award-winning activity centre set up on The Moor throughout the week offering fun arts and crafts including the Willow Fish Workshop and the Great Mouse Regatta.
