Christmas in Cornwall: The St Mawes Gallery List of Festive Fun on the Cornish Coast!

With Christmas now officially just around the corner, we’ve got our mince pies in the oven, twinkly lights on the go and a calendar full of magical things to do in Cornwall this festive season.

In our opinion, you simply can’t beat a Cornish Christmas! With some of the UKs most spectacular Christmas markets offering unique hand-crafted gifts, delicious food and drink and beautiful decorations right on our doorstep; superb harbour light displays; endless entertainment and wonderful winter walks, there is so much to do and so little time to cram it all in!

If you’re gearing up to make the most of the festive cheer this December, celebrating Christmas in Cornwall will be something you’ll never forget.

To help you enjoy some of the best events and things to do on the Cornish coast for Christmas 2017, we’ve put together ‘The St Mawes Gallery List of Festive Fun’, detailing a few of our favourites happening nearby…

Sing: Truro's BIG Christmas Sing

Truro Cathedral

Get ready to jingle those bells and belt out some of your favourite Christmas carols! On Friday 15th of December from 7:30pm, you can join in the fun of Truro’s BIG Christmas sing in Truro Cathedral, with masses of locals and holiday makers alike coming together to fill the air with music. An uplifting and wholly joyous affair that shouldn’t be missed!

See: Harbour Christmas Lights

from 16th December

Known as the ‘King of Christmas Lights’, Mousehole (a small village about an hour’s drive from St Mawes Gallery) will be lighting up the harbour with a breath-taking 7000+ twinkling bulbs in the shapes of sea serpents, whales and fishing boats.

This impressive display has become a thing of legend around here, growing into a spectacular sight from it’s humble beginnings, fuelled by Christmas-loving volunteers and kind donations from the viewers.

Nadelik – A Cornish Christmas

Pendennis Castle, Falmouth

Sat 16 - Sun 17 Dec 2017

If you’re a sucker for tradition, then it’s time that you found out how to celebrate Christmas the Cornish way! Enjoy Christmas tales around the fireside, crafts in the castle, lots of carol singing and the obligatory mulled wine and minced pies at Pendennis Castle.

Discover age-old Cornish games and cooking (including making your own marzipan – yum!) and meet Father Christmas, but this time, in his historic green attire rather than the Coca Cola red we all know so well.

Eat: Lusty Glaze Beach Christmas Feast

13th – 21st Dec

If you love scrumptious food, great music and an insane hot chocolate menu (who doesn’t?!) then the Lusty Glaze Beach Christmas Feast is one event than you cannot miss. Tear and share platters, a Hog Roast banquet, the ‘mega cheese board’ and plenty of fizz and port to go around, you’ll have a happy, full tum by the time the live music from ‘The Secret Santas’ starts up for the ultimate alternative Christmas party.

With a selection of dates to choose from between the 13th and 21st December but limited spaces available, check your diary and book now!
